I have mostly negative opinions of the UMDS. See below: Pluses: 1) The students in the Student Dental Clinic are generally nice, especially Jon Daugherty, who was very professional in every respect. Unfortunately for me, he graduated recently. Osama is not as good as Jon. He is about average - a C grade in every regard. 2) The doctors in the Student Clinic are generally good. 3) The Endodontics Department is staffed by some friendly, smart and caring practitioners. They did a great job on the root canal for my #29 tooth. They get a 5 star rating. They are exceptional! Minuses: 1) The staff of the Oral Surgery Department really sucks bigtime! I had a wisdom tooth removed about a year and a half ago, and the doctor did not numb up the gum area of wisdom tooth #17 enough. So when he used his pliers and yanked with force, it hurt like hell! The healing took a very long time. I experienced lots of pain. When I went in for a follow-up, the doctor who pulled my tooth acted like he didn't give a rats ass. I give Oral Surgery Department a minus 10 grade (-10) on a scale of 1 star to 5 stars! 2) The UMDS Dental School Billing Office is terrible and has some very rude phone reps. One h

If you need dental care, go to the students and graduates. They are kind, loving, and caring even when the patient is not patient or scared. They take insurances and have lower prices. You are getting top notch dental care at an affordable price and you are helping to make great dentists. Go there!

5* for Shyanne or Cheyenne, the dental student that helped me today. I don't know the spelling unfortunately. But I have extreme anxiety and she's one of the nicest people I've ever met and has been a miracle to have in the dental setting. β¨οΈ would highly recommend based on knowing she works here. Anyone who gets her as a dentist is being blessed from above. No exaggeration. She's going to be a great dentist-- and already is.

Probably about 2.5, largely because of processes that just do not work. Other than one very bad experience, believe we are getting reasonable care in the undergrad clinic. That said, it is not easy. 1. Students graduate then no follow-up from the institution to reassign patients to a new student. After repeated contacts initiated by the patient they provide a name or have the student reach-out to schedule. By that time, they are at times booked and care can get weeks off schedule (guess they wait until you call to assign someone). 2. Hygienist students schedule their own appointments but patients call a central number to schedule with a dental student. Makes it hard to get both cleaning and exam in one apt. though you apparently can have the dental student do both (some don't like to do both as they apparently only get credit for so many cleanings after which the rest are less interesting/desirable to the dental student). Don't get me wrong. We are lucky to have the resource (and they lucky to have us as patients) but it's not like a lot of 'new' happens relative to needing to reassign patients and those patients then needing to schedule appointments. Would think they would have

This is my go to place for dental work and has been for years. You have the top international dentist, faculty, professors, and students all with the same goal in mind, making sure your dental work is done to the highest standards known to man Everyone is extremely nice and helpful. Pricing is excellent too Sometimes the wait time can get a little long, but if youβre just patient, you will love the results
